Improved Performance with Shock Absorbers on Valve Inserter
To address metal fatigue observed in earlier iterations—where some components experienced sudden stops during the valve insertion cycle—shock absorbers were added to the valve inserter’s frame, resulting in smoother operation and extended part life.
These enhancements effectively reduced mechanical stress and noise levels by approximately 8 dB, while also yielding a measurable improvement in station cycle time.
IKI raised concern to the MBC team about the frequent failures and high level of machine noise of the original valve inserter operation. A shock absorber improvement that was made to the valve inserter reduced the wear and tear and subsequent downtime. The valve inserter upgrade also allowed for a much quieter operation.
